Error Print settings could not be saved, access is denied

Symptoms For – Error: Print settings could not be saved, access is denied

You get the error “Error: Print settings could not be saved, access is denied” when you go in to the printers properties and click on the advanced tab and make changes within here.  You also did not get this error when you were using citrix presentation server 3.0 and earlier

Systems Affected

The citrix systems that are affected by the error “Error: Print settings could not be saved, access is denied” are, Citrix Presentation Server Version 4.0 4.5 Xen App 4.0, 4.5, 5.0.

Resolution For – Error: Print settings could not be saved, access is denied

To be able to change printer settings you need to either be an administrator or power user on the citrix presentation server.  This function was designed to work like this so it restricts who can change the settings on a printer.
