How to Change the Licensing Port in XenApp 6

In XenApp 6.0, changing the licensing server port is done in two places. The first place is in the Discovery Services Console and the second place is in the License Server Administration Console. This article covers both processes.

Procedure

Changing the Licensing Port number in the Discovery Services Console:

1. Open the Discovery Services Console and go to Policies.

2. On the center pane, under Policies, select the Computer tab and select the Unfiltered policy. Note: This policy contains the default configurations for your farm. You might have used another policy to configure you licensing. If so use to that policy.

3. Under Citrix Computer Policies, select Edit.

4. On the Identify your policy screen (below), select Next.

5. On the left had side of the screen under Categories, select Licensing.

6. Once Licensing is selected, on the right hand side of the window find License server port and select Edit.

7. If the License server port is set to Use default value, clear that selection and change the port number to the desired value.

At this point, the value has now been changed from on the XenApp side of Licensing. The following steps change the port number in the License Administration Console.

Changing the Licensing Port number in the License Administration Console:

1. Open the License Administration Console and at the top of the screen, select Administration.

2. Log on to the Console with administrative credentials (this password is created during the installation process, if you do not remember it, uninstall and reinstall the License Administration Console).

3. Once logged on, go to the Server Configuration tab on the left hand side of the screen.

4. When inside of the Server Configuration tab you will see different configuration options, select License Server Configuration.

5. You will see the port that the License Administration Console is using to communicate with the XenApp Farm. Change the port number to the value that the license server is set to in the Discovery Services Console.
